HorseCashBuilder is a horse racing trading service which aims to hit consistent profits by backing and trading horses.
The service, run by Helge Johansen, sends daily selections via email. They are to be backed pre-race, then traded to make a profit or loss regardless of the result of the race.
Ideally, the selections should be traded using software. Click here for our review of Fairbot.
There is a manual included which further explains how the system works. One of the things mentioned in the manual is that 80% of the selections make a profit of at least £2.00 from a £10.00 bet.

Football Bankbuilder Review: Lay Betting System
Our second trial of Football Bankbuilder turned out to be even better than the first one! Not only do we stand by our original rating, we feel even more confident about the system now.
Month One Results
Peter traded 110 horses and made a loss of £27.50 (2.75 points) after deducting Betfair commission.
There had been some confusion about the way the selections were to be traded and, after many emails back and forth, we were still not 100% sure. Peter decided to aim for 1 point profit from each trade, with no trading out. That meant a potential full 1 point loss if the odds did not drop low enough (this is known as dobbing).
If we had aimed to take £2.00 profit from each race (20% profit) we calculated that we would have lost £44.00 over the last month. We carried on comparing the dobbing & 20% results over the course of the review.

A much better month for our HorseCashBuilder review. Peter continued to trade the selections, with the aim of making 1 point per race and this strategy made a profit of £81.00.
Added to last month’s loss, that made a total profit of £53.50 after 5% Betfair commission has been deducted.
The 20% profit version made a sizeable loss as you can see in the table below.

Review Summary
It had not been the easiest of reviews to run, as is the case with most trading services. The main issue with this service was not having a clear strategy to use.
Peter was a bit frustrated throughout the review being sent selections with odds under 3.0, after being advised not to trade them. We can understand that if they are close to 3.0 they may drift so it's worth sending them out just in case, but on one occasion there was a horse at odds of 1.18 in a two horse race!
We have agreed that the service deserves a Neutral rating.
A back to lay system is difficult to review. It is not a “hard and fast” back this horse and it either wins or loses. It requires a number of things. A back to lay mind-set and time.
If you do not have the time to monitor each race nominated, then there is no set and forget system which works consistently.
Mind-set. To use this product one would have to be skilled in monitoring a race and determining at what time to either take profit or loss. On a good race, the horse’s price will drop. It is up to the subscriber to decide when to take profit. Hesitate and go for one more point and the price can move against you fast and soon you can be in a loss situation.
In a bad looking race where the horse’s price goes out, what do you do? Do you take a loss and kick yourself when the horse then comes back down in price, or do you hang on and are prepared to lose the entire stake if the horse does not drop in price?
The system is dangerous over short distances, most feeds are delayed and in 5 or 6 furlong races, half the race is over before it’s been announced as started.
In reviewing the system, I had to use a set and forget system of a £10 (simulated) bet with a £10 profit target. The only way to judge whether the system was consistent was to have rules.
Initially, I did try to also run the system live. That is where I found out the importance of taking profit or losing the bet. It was annoying when taking a small profit, the horse price drops (and sometimes wins), meaning I have missed a good pay-out.
It is even more annoying to miss the low point and not be able to get out at a profit. This is mind-set. One has to understand it is a dual responsibility to play this type of bet. It is the responsibility of the vendor to select horses suitable for a price drop and it is the responsibility of the subscriber to make their own decision as to whether to play that race and when to make the decision to take profit or loss.
